Our Approach

Your personalised project or kitchen will commence with a home visit by Glen Donovan to discuss your requirements in detail.

Following your visit, you will be supplied with accurate plans, drawings, and costs.

To further explore your project requirements, we can supply you with a range of wood samples, finishes, handles, and granite.

We can also offer you advice on a range of appliances, sinks, and taps.

Once these specifications have been made, a detailed itemised costing and working schedule would then be produced.

Following this, work would then be scheduled in our workshop, and finally your project would be installed

Unlike other companies, whose designs are limited to a set catalogue of products, all of our work is designed and manufactured to the customers exact requirements.

This enables you to have your own individual kitchen or project, with no compromises.

We are proud of the fact that all of our materials are sourced from local businesses in the South West.  This has the double advantage of supporting local businesses, as well as reducing our carbon footprint.

Our specialist manufacturers have been tried and tested over many years, so you can be sure that your project is manufactured using materials of the highest quality and up to date ranges.

Our granite and quartz worktops are sourced, cut, machined, and hand-polished by SCI stonemasons in Newton Abbot. Our Timber is sourced from Robbins Timber, a Bristol based company who has over 125 years’ experience in producing the best quality materials.

Our wooden worktops are sourced from Timbmet in Bournemouth, whose commitment to sustainably sourced timber is matched by their wide ranges of timber from around the world.

Finally, our fittings (such as hinges and pull out larders), are sourced from LDL components, a Bath based company whose wide range of products includes BLUM drawer and hinge components as well as PEKA Swiss storage solutions.

Using our sourced materials, we hand make your project or kitchen using skilled joinery and carpentry techniques in our workshop based in rural Somerset.

For all of our projects, we carry out your installation using our own staff, so you can be sure that we are on hand at every stage.

We are also happy to manage other aspects of your project, including wall and floor tiling, electrical work, and  plumbing.

Donovan Kitchens recognises that we have a duty to acknowledge and contribute to the protection and conservation of the world’s timber supplies.

We source all our timber from sustainable sources where possible. Our primary source of certified timber is the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC).

Additionally, we have recently installed a Biomass boiler, which runs both Donovan Kitchens and our twin business, Home Barn Bed and Breakfast. The boiler runs from the waste wood we produce, and is therefore a sustainable and low carbon alternative to fossil fuels.
