History

Donovan Kitchens was founded in 1982 by Glen Donovan, an apprenticeship trained joiner. We have been producing high quality joinery at our workshop at Sock Dairy Farm since the mid-1980s. From the mid-1990s we further specialised in Kitchens.

We moved to our current workshop in 2000, on the same site, when we converted the abandoned barn next to the workshop into our residence. In 2016, we used the residence to open Home Barn Bed and Breakfast, which has been an immediate success.

Glen has trained many apprentices over the years, including Ben Ingersent, our workshop manager. Ben has won the National Joinery Championship for two years in a row in 2006 and 2007. Ben also represented the UK in Joinery at the World Skills Championships in 2007 in Japan, and had the opportunity, along with Glen, to meet the then Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
